Just Horses is a 5 column (11.5" x 16") tabloid newspaper with a printable area of 10 3/8" x 15 1/2", printed with an offset press.

Typesetting / Ad Layout
The Just Horses Graphic Design department is happy to assist you in designing your color or black & white advertisement for publication in the Just Horses newspaper.
You will receive one complimentary ad design with one set of changes at no additional charge to your pre-paid ad. Further changes will be charged at the rate of $75 per hour or any part of an hour.
If you wish to purchase the rights to your ad that Just Horses designed or re-designed for you, you may do so at the rate of $85 per ad. Your ad will be furnished to you in several popular formats.
Requirements
The Just Horses Graphic Design department is a PC based environment. Ads may be submitted in the following formats:
- PC 100 MB & 250 MB Zip disks
- CD-ROM or DVD
- Thumb Drive / USB Mass Storage
- Digital files through email to justhorses@qwestoffice.net
No other media is accepted. If you do not have access to one of the media types listed above, please contact your account executive at (208) 336-6707.
Preferred Software:
- Adobe Illustrator 8.0 - 10.0
- Adobe InDesign 8.0 - 10.0
- Acrobat Exchange 4.0 - 5.0
Scanning Specs:
- Photos are to be saved the same size that they will be used. 300 dpi is highly recommended. Color photos must be CMYK. Save photos and logos as .tiff, .eps, or .pdf files only.
- Line art should be scanned as close to actual size as possible at 600 dpi.
- Large files can be compressed using JPEG.
- Logos, photos, and images from the Web are only 72 dpi and will not be accepted.
Terms:
- Material deadline is the 15th of the month preceding publication. (If you are submitting an ad for the July issue, it must be received by Just Horses no later than the 15th of June).
- Proofs of copy are available upon request if material is received at least 24 hours before the deadline. The advertiser is responsible for proofing their ad.
- Just Horses is not responsible for typeset errors if a proof was not requested. Any errors should be reported to Just Horses immediately.
- Cancellations must be made prior to the 15th deadline of the month preceding publication. Just Horses reserves the right to cancel any ad or to require payment in full on any ad cancelled after the deadline.
- Advertisers not meeting the terms of contract will be billed for the full earned (non-contract) rate of the ad.
- Payment in advance is required for all ads, unless prior payment arrangements have been made. Contact your sales executive for a credit application.
- Accounts are billed on the first of each month and payment is due by the 10th of the same month. Overdue accounts will be charged 1 1/2% per month on unpaid balances. Accounts with balances over 60 days will have credit terms withdrawn and will be sent to a professional collection agency.
- Advertising rates are subject to change by the Publisher with 30 day notice. All valid contracts will be honored through run duration.
- Advertising simulating "news style" must print the word "Advertisement" at the top or bottom of copy.
- All political advertising must include a disclaimer and be paid in full, in advance.
- Advertisers and their agents are responsible, without limitation, for the content of their ad. Advertisers agree to hold Just Horses and its employees harmless against any resulting claims.
- Ads must be truthful and in good-taste. The advertiser guarantees that advertising is free of defamatory or deceptive language, and does not infringe on trademarks or copyright.
